The 9 Inch Rear End originally developed by Ford has been at the pinnacle of Racing for years. This Legendary Bullet Proof Rear End has now been adapted to the Fbody frame so that Camaro and Firebird owners no longer have to be concerned with the well being of their weak and expensive 10 Bolt Rear Ends.
So why a 9 Inch for the Fbody?
Many have tried to build up the stock 10 Bolts with Covers and Welding and all sorts of new innovations in the hopes that it will last some decent times. In the End the small ring size of the 10 bolt will only allow a person to go so far. 12 bolts are another option however have been proven to be noisy, leaky, expensive and after all is said and done not that much more reliable than the weak 10 bolts that they have replaced. Leaving us with the 9 Inch, The 9 Inch is the quietest, strongest, easiest to work and in this case the cheapest rear end available.
So why doesnt everyone Have a 9 Inch on their F body then?
Many people don't realize how unreliable the other two choices are and because most GM people don’t know that much about Ford's design bigger drivetrain companies can jack up the price of their 9 Inch replacements without question.
So how can our 9 Inch replacements be so much cheaper than the competitors?
Moser, Currie and Strange charge anywhere from $2400 - $3600 for a 9 Inch replacement without shipping! These companies also do not give a very good Vendor discount so Vendors are forced to sell these products at a high price for little profit. The difference is that components on my 9 Inch replacements are gathered and assembled in house. We don’t pay Moser's high cost set up prices and we can go to Bulk Distributors to get are components at a much better price. This means you get a better value and if anyone has dealt with Moser before you know of their less than appealing gear set up issues.
